Welcome to my site! I’m a New York-based policy reporter at Business Insider, covering the federal machinery of domestic policy with a focus on economics and health care, and proposals driving the 2020 presidential race such as “Medicare for All.”

I’m passionate about the political and policy debates shaping American life and grounding it into context. I also strive to include a wider range of voices and perspectives in my reporting that better reflects the nation’s pulse. I’m a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists.

I’ve covered a variety of news around politics, campaigns, technology, foreign affairs, race and domestic policymaking. I interned with CBS News and WNYC Studios, where I reported and produced stories on China’s rise, the 2018 midterms, climate change and election interference.

I’m a proud alum of the 2017 New York Times Student Journalism Institute, where I produced shoe-leather reporting on housing policy and the Puerto Rican Day Parade in Harlem. I was also a political reporting intern at Tallahassee’s NPR-affiliate WFSU News, where I reported spot and enterprise stories on the legislative battles around immigration, gun policy and criminal justice at the Florida statehouse that aired across the state.

I recently earned a master’s degree in journalism and European studies from New York University, where I also took part in the Fulbright Berlin Capital Program and the European Horizons policy lab at Yale University. Before that I graduated from Florida State University, where I served as senior staff writer for the student newspaper, the FSView & Florida Flambeau. During my time there, I focused on university life and the politics shaping it from the nearby statehouse to Washington. I was also a contributing writer for USA Today College and Tallahassee Magazine.
